There's mainly three things that kept me from writing a proper review: a) I was distracted from In Flames in a very nice way by Seb, who called me during "Satelites And Astronautes" (one of my all-time-faves) to share a cigarette outside. As I really wanted to meet him and as he had sth. for my man I of course hurried down from our spacy spot with the best view imagineable on the gallery to Seb. So I heard System and Pinball Map from outside. Big loss? Maybe. But worth it.

Secondly I was not successfull in nicking Tom's or Martin's setlist as usual (with handpainted bombs to indicate the pyros), as they both had them in their computers. So I just nicked this list above from an internet board, without guarantee and without the chance to memorize memorable events.

And third I had other things in mind I had to tell Bea, but that's a different kettle of fish...

Maybe I have to credit Tom again, as this was a very special IN FLAMES show with a special mood for me. It already began when he played Sigur Ros as background music during the change-over. And of course he did the brilliant sound again. In which the ballad-esque of the current setlist of In Flames shone through pretty well. So everything began very moody - but In Flames write ballads to dance to, and that we did!

Anders delivered the special announcements again - should it be Berlin which In Flames would remember because of the public or should it be Cologne or one of the other cities? He's the one to give the rockstar necessities the ironic turn which makes his announcements outstanding. And you could see that he was fiddling all the time between songs or when the strings-guys were having their go behind stage together with Biffen. We were already afraid that he had a cold and had to take bronchodilators or something. Biffen said no, he was simply drinking. Well, but not only. Later in Metal Hammer was revealed that he played "Connect Four" with Biffen! Ha!

By the way, GOJIRA ruled, I'm already fixed and got the cd to listen to more of them! So much for one of the concerts of 2008...

Aqua Alta

I love Venice!

Since I visited it I watch every documentary about the hazards of future floods. Seems like the current flood is almost what they expected and need MOSE for. If it will finally be quick enough...

Most surreal

Kein Wunder, dass die Züge der Bahn immer wieder zu spät kommen – denn in ihnen ist das Raum-Zeit-Kontinuum surreal verzerrt...

Auf dem Rückweg im EC von Berlin nach Hamburg sitze ich irgendwo im nirgendwo und die 20 Minuten Verspätung machen mir heute mal ausnahmsweise nichts aus, denn mein Harry Potter VII ist auch beim zweiten Lesen noch sehr spannend. Ausgerechnet, als ich gerade auf Seite 119 lese, dass der lustige Onkel Bilius Weasley 24 Stunden, nachdem er einen Grimm gesehen hatte, starb, wird ein "Herr Grimm" ausgerufen, in den Wagen 272 zu kommen. Das Bahnpersonal wolle ihn sehen, es hätte eine Nachricht für ihn.

Ob die ihn wirklich sehen wollten?

Ach ja... war auf dem Rückweg von diesem wunderbaren Konzert:

Spitz und in seltener Akribie hat der SPIEGEL ganz, ganz genau aufgeschrieben, was am Wochenende in BaWü mit dem *hoffentlich* neuen Bundesvorsitzenden der Grünen gemacht wurde. Nur das mit dem Piranha-Schwarm stimmt nicht ganz. Denn die "verkorkste Grüne Seele" braucht ein bißchen Blut und viele Tränen, um sich zu Hause zu fühlen. Gebissen werden die Starken.

Thanks to Spiegel Online I have a new place of interest. Okayokay, I was always curious about the Cascade volcanoes, but I didn't know you could see Mount Rainier from Seattle. Ok, they are brutiful from close by, too!

Wie wählen/wen wählen - Teil 2

Die Mopo hat es auch herausgefunden: Es gibt Stadtteile und Politiker, die dank (vermeintlicher oder auch nicht, das lassen wir mal dahingestellt sein) Mauscheleien der Parteien in der nächsten Bürgerschaft unter-repräsentiert sein werden. Ja, wenn sich die Listenaufstellung der Parteien durchsetzt!

Denn durch das panaschieren und kumulieren können tatsächlich die Listen in ihrer Zusammensetzung verändert werden! Wenn zum Beispiel alle Wilhelmsburger für Metin Hakverdi abstimmen, dann verändert sich die Bezirksliste der SPD im Wahlkreis 2 erheblich! (Das Beispiel kann man mit jeder anderen Partei und jedem anderen Kandidaten analog durchführen - mit der Namensnennung wollte ich nur noch mal auf den Mopo-Artikel Rückbezug nehmen).
