Wikipedia explains the subtext...

Funny. Simply funny! I use Trillian to get my MSN, Aim, ICQ and yahoo- chats in one window. Quite handy. In the newest edition they added at feature that's looking up phrases on the original edition of Wikipedia. As I said - quite handy if you're operating in many languages, use abbreviations and else - but in times a bit baffling when chatting in my mother tongue. For example the short "hehe" means a kind of (evilish) laughter in German - Wikipedia looks it up as a bantu tribe. Hehe!

Audioscrobbling is addictive

Haha. After Audioscrobbler opened it's gates again for Newbies on May 21st I'm now a member of this family, too. And it's addicitve. I already find the playlists in my WinAmp interesting - but the play count sets back if you move the file to another directory, delete it temporarily or else. Yes, I use WinAmp. I tried some other programs, got back to Windows media player for some days - but, nah - RealPlayer gets down too often, all players spy around on the harddisk. But I think I keep WinAmp at hand. I use Audiograbber to convert my cds into MP3. And then I'll burn them again and change what's on my litty-bitty HD (1 GB of music is not much) every now and then. This way it's not 100 percent representive - when I listen to music at home of course I use the stereo. The current load of music was compiled for Rock Hard Festival - me and Bea planned before what kind of music we would like on our hotel room party, Stratovarius and Iced Earth I converted to satisfy a special wish. Funny enough this week evolves as the week of Stratovarius: "A drummer does what a drummer has to do." Who needs motivation?! (This smile goes out to Dortmund...)

Well, I'm surprised a bit myself how much pop music ended up in my list. Haha. Seems like I simply like it ;-)

Monday Sixer - a travel Meme

Hey, the questions are not revealing the dirty details, but it was nice. Cheers to Shrike.

List all of the countries you've been to - or ten of the last ones. Stays less than a week do not count.

Danmark (even though I don't remember), Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan.
Well, that's it. Though I like to travel. But even my recent trip to Belgium has only been 5 days, I've been in Finland for some times, but never longer than 6 days, London saw me on weekends. Do festivals in the Netherlands count? I doubt.

Which local speciality has created the best or longest lasting memories?

Gemüse mümmeln in Aserbaidschan.

How about one that got you really angry?

Almost being raped in Turkey. We've been there in our last class at school, kind of an exchange with an extra trip. But when we had a very small hotel at the lake Egedir very far out, our host seemed to believe the damn Hurriyet facts about German tourists easy to shag. He had not enough beds for our group in his hotel, so four of us girls (the eldest) decided to take the room in a building close by together. Well, this was a trick. Shamefully he was encouraged by a German male tourist who behaved like shit when we girls came back from taking a shower. I think we were more angry at this dumbass than about the missguided host. Well - we were four, and they were set aback by our courage, so no real harm happened.

The most dangerous incident you came across?

See above? Well, I think really more dangerous was going anywhere by taxi in Azerbaijan and Turkey. Masallah!

What would you like to see go away considering travelling across the globe?

Land mines? US american immigration?

If you could have one building, place or scenery moved across the street from your home, which would it be?

The harbour cafe in Baku! It was such a lovely little place, but it was closed and weathered. Dr. Nemat Rahmati later told me that it was unbearable to sit there and have your tea or coffee when the wind came from the seaside, because of the toxic oil smell.

Rock Hard Festival

The Rock Hard Festival is now over already since Monday morning - around 3 am we arrived at my parents, I was back at home in Hamburg some 24 hrs later. And now I'm totally sick. Possible that Bea and me infected each other with this nasty cold, possible, that one of our guest on friday did it. Because our room develloped to be the party hall. But - what happens on the hotel stays on the hotel. At least I'm too tired to give a report of the highlights. If you know some German, see my "Official" Festival Report at Metal-Inside.de. Some of the highlights so far:
  1. meeting people!!! :-)
  2. SENTENCED
  3. SAMAEL
  4. AMON AMARTH
  5. Listening to Bobo on the phone complaining about 6-channel-only electro on WGT
More later, atishoo!

Festivals!!!

Tomorrow I'll celebrate the start of the festival saison 2005! The Rock Hard Festival will be my first festival in 2005. Kewl! I'm looking pretty much forward. We already planned the friday evening from A to Z, took the old heavy metal CDs from out of the very dusty shelves where they are carefully hidden. Grabbed ICED EARTH, STRATOVARIUS and other stuff you can only listen to when very drunk to MP3s. Stored them and edited them. And of course SENTENCED, because it will be one of the last concerts of the. Boys, I hope you're in a mood to celebrate as well!

Hamburg under siege again - and scandalous deportation

Today is now the 3rd day at which the parts of Hamburg I live in are under siege. It began on monday when about 100 people demonstrated in the "Schanzenviertel". Dunno what exactly this was about. But it looked like the police demonstrating against overtime work... Nearly 800 policemen. No chance to have a look at the demonstration. Well, this is the base right to demonstrate against anything in Germany - as long as you don't live in the Schanzenviertel...

On tuesday the director of the University of Hamburg called the police because students were trying to be on strike in front of the main building of the university. And the police was acting incredibly brutal, the students were outnumbered by far and a colleague of mine was caught by three police men with the arms torn on his back while he was phoning a lawyer...

Wednesday started with another student's demonstration against what happened the day before, and thank god the brutality started much later today, when most of the people were already on the way back. Short before but not seen by anybody because widely covered by the police was a gathering of the refugee council of Hamburg. Because on this day the first Afghan refugees should be transportated back to Afghanistan. Well, good for them if they are from the area around Kabul. But what should they do if they are originally from Kandahar or wherever?. "Afghanistan is save" says Hamburg's minister for interior affairs. Some people don't even trust their own words, I guess...

Shriek! Kreisch! (multilingual)

Wow! The Ark are playing in Hamburg. Shriek! Kreiiiisch! Finally I have to get new high heel boots like they were fashionable in the 70th. Have to get on my best make-up. GLAM ROCK. Yeeha!

WM-Ticketvergabe - meiner Meinung nach ein Skandal... (German only)

UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE! Haben wir noch einen Datenschutzbeauftragten in Deutschland? Peter Schaar, ermitteln Sie!

Tickets for the FIFA world cup 2006...

As I already posted here some month ago: The FIFA World Cup 2006 will be a desaster for your freedom rights. Already by applying for the tickets you have to strip naked all your personal data, which will be stored on the RFID-Chip on the ticket to be compared any time with your passport or other things. All in the name of so-called security. As it is more or less discussed not even the data of those people who didn't get a ticket was deleted, it's all stored at the FIFA for marketing purposes.

But now, after the first part of the tickets is given away to the first lucky winners of this lottery, the first ones sell their's of course at Ebay - to the maximum of 12.500 EUR at the moment. Now bloody politicians protest - not against the unfair, insecure and freedom threatening way of selling the tickets, but against Ebay. Incredible! Here's the list of those responsible:
Members of the Parliamentary Commission for sports

Honi soit qui mal y pense (German)

Die folgenden Bilder dokumentieren einen sehr netten, erfolgreichen Donnerstag abend...

Denn Stupa ohne Stars ist wie Döner ohne scharfe Soße.
